Glitter and Velvet nails: Would you try it?

Hi everyone,

In my Christmas stocking I got a 2 little glitter packs with fuschia nail polish, now I know I was going to get this because I was actually with my mum at the time she bought it from a shop called Watt Brothers in Glasgow and they do some great nail polishes in there. I saw a red one and it looked super christmasy but I already had my nails done blue so I was in need of buying nail polish remover which I some how forgot to do until today when I went into town and saw Velvet nails in Superdrug!

I instantly kept staring at them and was so wanting to buy but I wanted to wait..does anyone else think there is something a bit tacky about them? yet still amazing haha - Just wanna point out Blake Lively had hers done velvet for her wedding! Wow, very bold move...I know Alexa Chung has leather ones as well but I need to actually think if I would like my nails done like that because it can get really messy..I got the magnetic nail kit before but I don't have the patience for it so it just sort of sits on in my drawer..Hmm let me know what you think for now I have glitter nails to bring in the new year!

Accessorize Velvet Nails Blue Suede {In case anyone hasn't seen them}

My messy glittery nails! I just wanted to try them out to see if I liked them and I do!! ..I like the small sized glitter rather than the big silver chunks better though...

This kind of glitter 'bling' is my favourite because it looks more tidy, normally I just use a sinful colors with two nail polishes but I wanted something different.

Alexa Chung confirms that she is going to launch her own clothing label

In an Interview with Alexa Chung in the Japenese Fashion Magazine 'Numéro Tokyo'  Alexa said '' Yes, I’m definitely going to do that. I’m looking into it right now. '' '' I’ve got nothing to lose, it’s a bit of fun. In this current era of celebrity no one believes you actually design the stuff anyway, even though I sketch everything myself.'So if it sucks I can say I had nothing to do with it, and if it’s really good I can say ‘Here are the drawings, it’s all my own work!' '' Alexa has always been apart of British Fashion and  is now trying to make her own way up the ladder. In the front cover she is in an English country garden wearing a felt fedora and ladylike lace dress. The second shot shows the Alexa wearing printed matching trousers and a blazer, she has on checkered shirt underneath, atop a red London bus with the Houses of Parliament glinting in the background.

First look at Solange Knowles first major contract with Madewell

Pictures have just been released of Solange Knowles modelling for Madewell which is her first major contract. Solange is following in the footsteps of Dree Hemingway and Alexa Chung who have previously modelled for the label, though Alexa then went on to design her own clothes for the label. Solange recently moved to Brooklyn with her son to fit as her sister kept telling her over the years that it would be her 'kind of neighbourhood' and she would fit in with the style because she is such a Fashionista! In the pictures above she is wearing some bright colours and it definitely suits her. Solange is wearing polka-dots shorts, blouses stripey cardigan, denim jeans, leopard dolly shoes, printed skirts and T-shirts, hats and bright coloured dresses. It gives you the perfect feel of what is to come for Solange in the fashion world and it looks like it could just be the perfect career for her.

Madewell, which is J. Crew's sister store, first released behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot earlier this month which offered a hint at the wide range of polka dots, stripes and prints from its Fall 2012 collection.

Alexa Chung poses for the spring/summer Vero Moda collection!

 

Alexa Chung was spotted out in Williamsburg, Brooklyn doing a fashion shoot for Vero Moda, this is her second year with the label. She wears some cute but quirky outfits, such as print-heart frocks & cardigans with peter pan colors & just peter pan blouses. The label's PR, Katja Hundrup explained why she believes the star's style is so taken in by all girls - 'She knows her fashion references and is able to combine high-end designer items with high street and vintage in a unique way, putting personality into whatever she wears.' This label's new collection mirrors the tomboyish style she has become so known for! If you want to purchase any clothing then go ahead! Charlotte Olympia's "Kitty Flats"

These gorgeous "Kitty Flats are priced at £485 and you will be sure to look super cute in them. They have black velvet covering them with a bold gold heel at 15mm/0.5 inches, they also have a stitched gold cat's face stuck on the front adding a sweet touch, but you still look classic. They are becoming a huge hit with the celebrities with the likes of Alexa Chung, Katy Perry and SJP.
